Sharing a Vision for Eastern Shore Health Care
On a warm November evening, UMB hosted more than 150 Eastern Shore residents — and another 250 virtual attendees — for a community town hall at the historic Avalon Theatre in Easton, Md. UMB President Bruce E. Jarrell, MD, FACS, who hails from the Eastern Shore town of Goldsboro, served as master of ceremonies and led a fireside chat with UMSOM Dean Mark T. Gladwin, MD, and UMSON Dean Yolanda Ogbolu, PhD, NNP, FNAP, FAAN.
In addition, attendees heard from Kenneth Kozel, MBA, president of University of Maryland Shore Regional Health; Mark A. Reynolds, DDS, PhD, MA, dean of the University of Maryland School of Dentistry; and Megan Ehret, PharmD, a professor from UMSOP. Throughout the event, speakers shared their insights on how UMB could play a major role in bridging the health care gap that affects the vast majority of the Shore’s 450,000 residents.
