The WISER Together Inclusion Program will continue to strengthen our shared culture by further integrating the WISER Guiding Principles into our everyday work. This initiative aims to enhance inclusive practices, strengthen team collaboration, and sustain a culture of belonging in Administration and Finance.
Each team will engage in the following activities:
* Assess inclusive workplace behaviors;
* Complete online learning modules to build new skills;
* Participate in meaningful conversations that promote belonging and enhance performance.

Juneteenth 2026 Tabling Event
A&F is proud to promote our inclusive values year round and during Pride month in June and during the week of June 19th for Juneteenth. Check out the A&F Calendar for scheduled events and activities or email AFSuccess@umaryland.edu for more information.

If there's a support group that you might be interested in but don't see it listed, please ask.

All A&F search committees should complete this training before beginning any new recruitment. This single-session, hourlong search kickoff empowers A&F team members with the knowledge and skills needed to create a successful search process. The training helps mitigate biases and create collective norms to optimize the search process to helping each team to identify, interview, and hire the best candidates.

All new A&F employees are invited to a quarterly Meet & Greet with Chief Business & Finance Officer and Senior Vice President Dr. Dawn Rhodes. Invitations will be sent to new employees via email.

Exclusively for A&F employees, the Goodwill Excel Center helps you earn a tuition-free high school diploma. Through this program, employees will receive time off from regularly scheduled work to attend classes at the Excel Center near the UMB campus. During the program, participants will develop relationships with staff and fellow students to encourage your progress and academic progress. UMB currently has five scholars who are earning their degrees and one who has graduated.
The program offers drop-in daycare, embedded job training, transportation assistance, and life coaches to help you manage your work/class/life balance. To take the first step, please reach out to The Success Office.
Environmental Services employee Antonio Pennix Jr. becomes the first graduate of Administration & Finance and the Success Office's pilot program. Pennix earned his full high school diploma from the Goodwill Excel Center.
A beloved tradition for two years and counting, Theatre Day from the Hippodrome is open to Administration and Finance employee kids aged kindergarten to 12th grade. This FREE one-day camp is held at at the world-famous Hippodrome Theatre! This highly sought-after summer camp introduces kids to theater, music, dance, improv, performing, and more. The participants put on a brief show at the end of the day!

The QHCM Tech Readiness Program is a targeted initiative to prepare staff for the successful implementation of the QHCM (Quantum Human Capital Management) system. The program bridges gaps in digital readiness by combining customized, hands-on training with the deployment of necessary hardware in key locations.
