Stop 21 and Stop 22
The 1807 Pearl Gallery, located on the east side of the Pearl Street Underpass, showcases 32 pieces of art from the inaugural issue of UMB’s 1807: An Art & Literary Journal. The addition of lighting and well-planned artistic accents complement the artwork and subtly reflect the artistic nuances of the annual journal. This gallery space brings life to an otherwise dim and mundane underpass. Images of the artwork include items from mediums such as paintings, sculptures, and poetry.
'1807’ Pearl Gallery Expansion
The expanded section of the Pearl Gallery is located on the adjacent west side of Pearl Street, where the artwork on display has nearly doubled. The west wall features exhibits from the second edition of 1807, released in August 2020, further enriching the visual experience of the once-dark underpass. This gallery cleverly incorporates nearby equipment and doors, painted to complement the color scheme of the four art mediums, which also are color-coded in the art and literary journal.
