Stop 12
The Community Outreach Police Station — referred to as the “COPS Shop” — is one of three UMB Police and Public Safety substations. Members of the department’s award-winning Community Outreach and Support Team (COAST) work out of this building, increasing police visibility and providing community resources.
Established in 2018, COAST strives to foster positive relationships between UMB Police and Public Safety and the communities it serves. The team provides services for vulnerable populations, a Police Athletic/Activities League program that mentors local youth, a comfort K9 program, and more.
The other UMB Police and Public Safety substations are located in the University of Maryland BioPark and at 100 North Greene St., which is the department’s space for training and education.
