    Request Escort Services

    Public Safety  |  Approved June 9, 2016

    Purpose

    Arrange a police van escort or walking escort on or around campus.

    Applicability

    All University of Maryland, Baltimore (UMB) faculty, students and staff, as well as employees at the University of Maryland Medical Center (UMMC).  

    Instructions

    1. Ensure that your area is covered by reviewing the UMB Campus Map.
      • Please be aware that the escort services for walking and van transport have different boundaries as outlined in the map.
    2. Ensure possession of your UMB or UMMC identification.
      • If those type of identifications are not currently available, a valid government issued identification card may be substituted.
    3. Call 410-706-6882 and provide the operator with your personal information, current location, and destination.
    4. A uniformed officer will be sent to your location.
      • Walking police escort service is available on campus 24 hours a day, 365 days a year.
      • Van police escort service is available from 3 p.m. to 1 a.m., 365 days a year.
      • If these services are currently unavailable an alert will be sent to campus employees and students.
    5. If there are any issues please ask for public safety supervisor.
