Enhancing Health Professions Education Through AI-Powered Transparent Learning and Inclusive Design
This project aims to integrate generative artificial intelligence (GenAI) tools to enhance student engagement, promote transparent learning, and streamline instructional design. We propose to develop and implement a suite of high-impact practices that leverage:
LLMs for Content Development: We will utilize Large Language Models (LLMs) to create adaptable and detailed document outlines. This enables instructors to rapidly prototype, iterate, and refine course content, ensuring alignment with learning objectives and fostering a dynamic learning experience. AI-Driven Instructor Video Production: We will leverage AI technology to produce engaging and accessible instructor videos. This will allow for the creation of high-quality, personalized learning content, enhancing student comprehension and providing flexible learning options.
Assessment Redesign: We will employ LLMs to redesign existing assessments, aligning them with the Transparent Assessment Framework. This will ensure that assessment criteria, purpose, and processes are clearly communicated to students, fostering metacognition and promoting equitable learning outcomes.
These strategies will result in technology-enhanced curriculum design, personalized and accessible learning, transparent and equitable assessment, and enhanced instructor efficiency.
