The Emerging Leaders Program is a professional development initiative that examines universal principles of leadership and applies them to UMB's culture. The program aims to contextualize participants’ leadership experience through a series of interactive and informative sessions and is designed to build and enhance leadership skills.

Eligibility and Program Details

Current UMB employees (Faculty and Staff) are eligible to apply.

Program Timeline: September to June

Program Commitments: Approximately 1-3 hours per month. Requirements include in-person participation and/or virtual seminar sessions and facilitated dialogue sessions.

Learning Outcomes

Emerging Leader participants will have an opportunity to:

  • Cultivate a professional network of cohort peers and UMB leadership.
  • Identify professional goals and determine next steps to achieve them.
  • Explore components of leadership, including leadership styles, emotional intelligence, conflict management, and influence to increase self-awareness and strengthen leadership capacity.
