Sandra M. Quezada, MD, MS, is an Assistant Professor of Medicine in the Division of Gastroenterology and Hepatology at the University of Maryland School of Medicine in Baltimore. She serves as Assistant Dean for Admissions, and as Assistant Dean for Academic and Multicultural Affairs for the School of Medicine, and is Course Director for the Medical Spanish course elective.

Dr. Quezada received her undergraduate degree from Hood College in Frederick, Md., and her medical degree from the University of Maryland School of Medicine (SOM). She completed her postgraduate training in internal medicine at the University of Maryland and Baltimore VA Medical Center and stayed here to complete her fellowship training in gastroenterology and hepatology. In addition,  Quezada obtained a Master of Science degree in human nutrition at the Institute of Human Nutrition at the Columbia University College of Physicians and Surgeons in New York and a Master of Science degree in clinical research at the University of Maryland School of Medicine, Department of Epidemiology and Public Health in Baltimore. Quezada serves as co-chair of the School of Medicine Faculty Diversity Advisory Committee, Faculty Advisor to the SOM Student Diversity Council, Latino Medical Student Association, and is a Faculty Mentor for the Student National Medical Association and the Women in Medicine student interest groups. She is a member of the Alpha Omega Alpha Honor Medical Society, the 2017 recipient of the Leonard Tow Humanism in Medicine Award with the Gold Humanism Honor Society, and the inaugural 2017 Dean’s Alumni Award for Diversity and Inclusion. She also is chair-elect of the Diversity Committee for the American Gastroenterological Association.

Quezada lives in Baltimore with her husband Wilson, and together they serve as coaches for the Bridges of Baltimore program, mentoring three 8th-grade students in the Baltimore City Public School system with the hope of guiding them to fulfilling careers.
