Core Value Conversation - Innovation and Discovery Responses

Understanding the value set of Innovation and Discovery:

  1. What does “innovation” mean to you in the context of your work or learning?
  2. How do you recognize when discovery is happening – in yourself or in others?
  3. Why do you think innovation and discovery are important values within a university community?
  4. What helps create an environment where new ideas and questions are encouraged?

Exploring how you can be a catalyst for others valuing Innovation and Discovery through your actions:

  1. Trying new things drives growth and open the door to creative problem-solving. What is one new idea or approach you could try this week to improve your work, studies, or community?
  2. Innovation thrives in environments where people feel safe to explore and imagine. How can you encourage others to share ideas or take risks without fear of judgment this week?
  3. Discovery starts with curiosity and a willingness to keep learning. What is a question you have been curious about and how could you begin to explore it this week?
  4. Working together across differences can lead to breakthroughs no one could achieve alone. Who could you collaborate with this week to spark new ideas or gain a fresh perspective?
