Annual license renews in November
Adobe Licenses
Please be advised that Adobe Acrobat Pro 2020 will reach end-of-support on November 30, 2025. This version was purchased as a one-time license and is assigned to a specific machine.
It differs from Acrobat Cloud, which is renewed annually and assigned to individual users.
Starting December 1, 2025, Acrobat Pro 2020 will no longer receive security updates and is required to be removed from all systems to maintain compliance and security standards.
If you are currently using Acrobat Pro 2020 (or an earlier version), you have the following options:
- Do nothing. Microsoft Word can save as .pdf so you can continue to create .pdf documents. Acrobat Reader is free and can read .pdf documents and is likely installed on your computer already. If it is not yet installed, your local IT Support team can install it for you at no cost.
- Save as PDF using Word.
- Read PDF using Acrobat Reader.
- Cannot edit PDF files as you currently do with Acrobat Pro or Acrobat Cloud.
- Purchase Acrobat Cloud at $155 per user per year. Or you can purchase Adobe Cloud All Apps, which includes Acrobat, Illustrator, Photoshop, etc., for $295 per user per year.
- Can be installed on multiple machines assigned to the same person.
- Can only be used on one machine at a time.
- Can be installed on any combination of UMB-owned and/or personally-owned hardware.
- Desktop, web, and mobile.
- Security updates and feature updates during the license term.
- Advanced e-signature tools.
- Mobile app access.
- Web-based editing.
- User with assigned license must login to use Acrobat Cloud – no one else can use that license even on a shared machine.
- Purchase Acrobat Pro 2024 for $155 per computer for three (3) years, expiring 10/27/2028.
- Can only be installed on a single UMB-owned computer.
- Each installation requires a separate license.
- Desktop installation only.
- Security updates only – no new features during the life of the product.
- Basic e-signature tools.
- No mobile app access.
- No web-based editing.
- All licenses will expire 10/27/2028 regardless of purchase date, so licenses purchased during the 3-year term will be pro-rated.

These licenses must be renewed, or they stop working at the end of the licensing period. Additionally, when a user leaves UMB, they stop working.
These licenses are assigned to users, by email address, and allow each user two (2) installations – which can be on personally-owned or UMB-owned hardware.
You may require assistance from your local IT department if you need to install the software on a UMB managed device.
Change to Creative Cloud Storage
Adobe is modernizing the Creative Cloud storage experience and will begin discontinuing Creative Cloud Synced files for business customers under Creative Cloud for Teams and Creative Cloud for Enterprise plans. If you don't use Creative Cloud Synced Files, it won't affect you. If you do, here's how you might be impacted:
Starting February 1, 2024
Users will no longer be able to share files or folders from Creative Cloud Synced files with new users outside of your organization. Sharing will continue to work within your organization until October 1st.
Starting October 1, 2024
Adobe will begin discontinuing the Creative Cloud content synchronization process as well as synced file and folder sharing and will permanently remove the cloud-based copies of files for users. Adobe will begin discontinuing Creative Cloud Synced files for business customers. Assets in the local Creative Cloud Files folder on user devices will no longer be synchronized with Creative Cloud storage. User files will remain in their local Creative Cloud Files folder. Folders and assets previously shared from Creative Cloud Synced files will no longer be accessible to others including inside your organization as well as externally.
Note that users may not see these changes right away as Adobe rolls out the process gradually.
Recommended actions:
Make sure that your organization's assets are safely backed up either locally or through a third-party cloud storage provider. Adobe will not be sending out notifications regarding this change directly to your organization's users.
