To provide rideshare services to the University of Maryland, Baltimore.


This partnership enables schools and departments to work with Lyft to set up transportation programs that support the needs of the departments and schools.


Instructions for specific Lyft Programs are below.

For additional information or to enroll your department in a Lyft Program, please submit a program inquiry form or contact Tony Green. The University of Maryland, Baltimore - Lyft Program team will reach out to discuss your transportation needs, provide training and program management resources, and work with you to set up your program.


Lyft on Demand Shuttle

Purpose: This program is intended to better serve the UMB community with affordable, on-demand transportation options due to the COVID19 Pandemic.

Applicability: The University of Maryland, Baltimore has partnered with Lyft to offer all current UMB students, faculty, and staff a new reliable mobility resource that replaces the previous campus shuttle system. The Lyft On-Demand Shuttle provides 4 discounted Lyft rides each week to/from the previous shuttle stops. This should provide all members of the community with 2 roundtrip rides per week (or 16 rides per month.)


  • All currently enrolled students, faculty, and staff will receive an invitation at their official UMB email account from Lyft Businessinviting them to activate the Lyft On-Demand Shuttle program. Open this email and follow the prompt to opt-in to the program to receive your discounted rides.
  • Your discount will then automatically be applied to your account within the Lyft app (in the “Promos” section) to rides which meet the program eligibility criteria.
