Sponsored Projects Accounting and Compliance (SPAC)

Sponsored Projects Accounting and Compliance (SPAC) serves as a resource and partner to departmental administrators and researchers in all aspects of post-award financial administration. We provide accounting and compliance support to the departments that are responsible for sponsored project execution and the day-to-day financial administration of the award.

While the departments initiate and reconcile expenses for all financial transactions on sponsored projects (hirings, labor distributions, purchases, subcontracts, etc.), SPAC is responsible for the timely billing and reporting of these sponsored projects.

SPAC provides resources and education to the departments to assist them with determining if charges to an award are allowable, allocable, and reasonable. Our resources support the compliance required by sponsors, regulatory authorities, and the University.
