PA Leadership and Learning Academy

At its core, the PA Leadership and Learning Academy (PALLA) is about shaping the future of the PA profession in Maryland. Housed within the University of Maryland School of Graduate Studies, this statewide initiative goes beyond traditional training—empowering current and future PA educators to lead, innovate, and drive meaningful change in education, research, policy, and ultimately, better access to healthcare across Maryland and beyond.

PALLA supports workforce development and PA education across the state of Maryland.

The academy is centrally located at the University of Maryland, Baltimore. We aim to develop a Maryland Physician Assistant workforce and faculty capacity to educate the next generation of PA students while advancing Physician Assistant education, research, and policy. The vision of PALLA is to create an inclusive learning community dedicated to excellence in education.

PALLA is leveraging virtual and face-to-face teaching to accomplish its goals through faculty and preceptor fellowships, professional development seminars, and in-person events. We address topics such as leadership, simulation, educational best practices, and creating longitudinal models to educate and evaluate PA students.
