What is the “Proud to Work Here. Proud to Give Here.” campaign?

“Proud to Work Here. Proud to Give Here.” is a University-wide awareness and fundraising effort that invites faculty and staff to show their pride with a gift to the UMB school, scholarship, program, fund, or cause that matters most to them.

How can I make my gift?

Faculty and Staff can participate by selecting one of the following options:

  1. Make a one-time or recurring credit card gift via our secure giving site.
  2. Complete our printable Proud to Work Here. Proud to Give Here Gift Form and deliver it (by mail or in person) to one of the following locations:

Is my gift tax-deductible?

Your gift is tax-deductible to the extent allowable by law. You will receive a tax receipt for any gifts made directly to the University from the University of Maryland Baltimore Foundation, Inc. Please consult your tax advisor for questions about your specific giving.

Where does my gift go?

The choice is yours! The University has many funds that directly benefit students, faculty, schools, and programs. You may direct your “Proud to Work Here. Proud to Give Here.” gift to the fund of your choice, or simply support the area of greatest need.

I recently made a gift to UMB, will it count?

Thank you for your support. Gifts from faculty and staff received after July 1, 2018 will be counted.

Does my Maryland Charities Campaign (MCC) gift count?

Gifts made through MCC will not be included in the “Proud to Work Here. Proud to Give Here.” results, or eligible for the Board of Trustees match challenge. We encourage all UMB faculty and staff to support the many worthy community-based organizations throughout Maryland through MCC while also supporting our own UMB community directly through the “Proud to Work Here. Proud to Give Here.” campaign.

What is the Board of Trustees Match Challenge?

The University of Maryland Baltimore Foundation Board of Trustees is PROUD of UMB’s accomplished and dedicated faculty and staff.

To say THANK YOU for all that you do and to encourage further PRIDE in your work and the UMB community at-large, they have generously offered a $40k match challenge for the “Proud to Work Here. Proud to Give Here.” campaign that will match faculty and staff gifts $1:$1.

Match parameters:

  • Match date range: July 1, 2018 through September 30, 2018, or until match funds are exhausted.
  • Gifts can be made to any active UMBF fund.
  • Gifts are matched up to $1,000 per individual.
  • Gifts received by check or credit card during the match date range will be matched $1:$1, in the order they were received, until matching funds are exhausted
  • Calendar year 2018 payroll deductions are not eligible for the match.
  • Gifts made through MCC are not eligible for the match.
