Security officer Janel Manwarring has served the University of Maryland, Baltimore (UMB) Department of Police and Public Safety for eight years. During that time, she’s served in many roles, including patrol, Safe Ride, and more. 

“I became a security officer to help people,” she says. She enjoys interacting with UMB students and employees and says her most memorable moment on the job was attending a School of Pharmacy mock-networking event. 

For those new to the UMB community, Manwarring suggests taking a campus tour to get to know UMB. 

The security officer, who is from Grenada, aspires to become full time in the Army National Guard. Outside of work, she enjoys going out to eat with her friends.
