“I want to ensure that the School of Social Work will continue to attract a diverse and talented cohort of students each year and help us perpetuate our mission for generations of students to come.”

Franklin Chappell’s favorite part of his career as a clinical assistant professor and coordinator of field education at the School of Social Work is the satisfaction of working with supportive colleagues and participating in field students’ professional growth and development — but he doesn’t stop there.

Chappell has given back to the school for eight of his 12 years on campus because he believes so strongly in the institution’s mission: to develop practitioners, leaders, and scholars who will advance the well-being of people and communities and promote social justice.

In his words, “I continue to donate annually because I want to ensure that the School of Social Work will continue to attract a diverse and talented cohort of students each year and help us perpetuate our mission for generations of students yet to come.”
