Andreas Ortmeyer - Carey School of Law

Andreas Ortmeyer | Controller, Office of Administrative Affairs | UMB Donor for 12 years

“The law school has been good to me and my family. I am proud to be a part of this work environment and glad to support students at Maryland Carey Law.”

Andreas Ortmeyer has been a dedicated and committed staff member of the University of Maryland Francis King Carey School of Law for 25 years. In his role as Controller of Administrative Affairs, Andreas guides and supports student leaders through financial and logistical requirements that allow them to travel to prestigious law competitions across the nation. In this capacity, Andreas is acutely aware of the needs of student organizations and glad to support opportunities for law students to develop their legal skills.

“The law school has been good to me and my family. I am proud to be a part of this work environment and glad to support students at Maryland Carey Law.” Proud to encourage scholarship, advocacy, and leadership in law students, Andreas works hard to support them through his day-to-day work. Over the past 12 years, Andreas has given generously and annually to ensure their growth and experience at Maryland Carey Law.

“I remember when this [law school] building was completely different … where I shared a small cramped office with a co-worker,” he says. Andreas was inspired to give an annual gift to support the building campaign when he first started working at the law school and where he felt there was the most need. These days, his giving priority has changed toward scholarship, student experience, and certainly the Catalyst Campaign. “I will continue supporting the place that has always been good to me.”
