2014 IPE Day Gallery
The 2014 IPE Day Gallery, above, progresses from several introductory photos to glimpses of students and faculty working across disciplines in many of the 11 scenarios held Feb. 19, 2014.
In the opening photos, School of Nursing (SON) Dean Jane M. Kirschling, PhD, RN, FAAN, director of the University’s Center for Interprofessional Education, addresses hundreds during 2014 IPE Day activities. Participants who gathered in the SON Auditorium heard a keynote speech by Cynda Hylton Rushton, PhD, RN, FAAN, Anne and George L. Bunting Professor of Clinical Ethics, Berman Institute of Bioethics, Johns Hopkins University School of Nursing.
The couple who helped sponsor the event appear in the fifth slide. Sylvia Earl, left, and James Earl, Jr., PhD, secretary, of the Board of Trustees of the University of Maryland, Baltimore Foundation, are seated in front of Kirschling. Standing with her are the center’s co-directors, David Mallott, MD, of the School of Medicine, left; Ed Pecukonis, MSW, PhD, of the School of Social Work; and Heather Congdon, PharmD, BCPS, CDE, of the School of Pharmacy.
The sixth photo shows activities during Scenario No. 1, which was among the case studies presented with the help of actors known as standardized patients, who are bing greeted. In the remainder of the gallery, scenarios are organized numerically, concluding with photos 37-42 from Scenario No. 11.
