University of Maryland’s Leadership in HIV Summit: Preparing the Future
Preparing the Future
The goal of Preparing the Future (PTF) is to mobilize an academic campus, its clinical programs and surrounding community to address the goals of the National HIV/AIDS Strategy. Building on the momentum from the first year of the project, PTF II aims to lay the foundation for the routinization of HIV testing and linkage to care at the University of Maryland’s professional campus and close the significant gaps in diagnosis, linkage and retention in HIV care in the United States through its multi-disciplinary, academic and clinical approach.
The 2nd Leadership in HIV Summit will EDUCATE, EMPOWER & ENGAGE the University of Maryland to address the HIV epidemic in their discipline, practice and engagement in the community.
Educate participants on the HIV epidemic and relevant efforts to address HIV at the University of Maryland.
Empower participants with knowledge, tools and resources to apply the University of Maryland HIV/AIDS Strategy.
Engage participants in the comprehensive and integrated academic and clinical campus approach to the HIV epidemic.
"We study, work and live in a city where 1/40 citizens over the age of 13 are infected with HIV. You have a role in improving the health of Baltimore."
