The University of Maryland, Baltimore (UMB) held commencement for the Class of 2023 on Thursday, May 18, at Chesapeake Employers Insurance Arena on the campus of the University of Maryland, Baltimore County.

This year’s Universitywide event featured recognition of the inaugural President’s Distinguished Gold Medal recipient, Norman R. Augustine, MSE; the awarding of honorary degrees to Shirley Nathan-Pulliam, MAS, BSN ’80, RN, FAAN, and Martha Somerman, DDS, PhD; a speech by Joanna Z. Ye, a graduating student from the School of Medicine; and much more.

UMB congratulates the Class of 2023 graduates of the schools of dentistry, law, medicine, nursing, pharmacy, social work, and the Graduate School.
