Policy Statement

It is the policy of the University of Maryland, Baltimore to encourage student employment when there is a benefit to the student and the institution. Each school/academic unit should consider the value of employment to the student and institution, as well as accreditation standards, in providing advice and counsel to students relative to student employment.

Students should consult with their school/academic department or the UMB Financial Aid office based on the nature of the work they are seeking (i.e., academic employment opportunities are normally facilitated by the school/academic department; more general student employment opportunities are facilitated by the UMB Financial Aid office).
