Title: Public Allies Maryland
Description: Housed at the SWCOS main office, Public Allies Maryland is the Maryland operating partner of Public Allies, a National AmeriCorps program. Public Allies identifies young people from the community who have a passion to make a difference and helps them turn that passion into a career path for social change. Through our 10 month signature AmeriCorps program, Allies serve in apprenticeships in local nonprofit organizations and public agencies as well as participate in intensive leadership development training. In addition, Allies create and implement asset-based community development team service projects which strengthen local communities. Social Work interns work as Program Managers, coaching the Allies to reach success in their individual development plans.
