Title: American Pharmacists Association Academy of Student Pharmacists (Know Your Pharmacist, Know Your Medications)Description: American Pharmacists Association Academy of Student Pharmacists (APhA-ASP) is the University of Maryland School of Pharmacyýs chapter of the national organization. The mission of APhA-ASP is to be the collective voice of student pharmacists, to provide opportunities for professional growth, and to actively promote the future of pharmacy. As well as supporting its many operations, APhA-ASP drives several of its own initiatives. For instance, APhA-ASP members participate in Flu Clinics in community pharmacies. They also sponsor a clothing drive from September through the beginning of November to collect new or gently used coats to give to the community. APhA-ASP holds several DEA Drug Take Back Days to collect expired medications from the community for proper disposal. During election years, APhA-ASP conduct a ýVote and Vaxý program to provide free flu shots to voters at polling sites.. Finally, APhA-ASP organizes the ýScript Your Futureý campaign during the spring semester to promote greater medication adherence among community members.
