Community Programs in the School of Medicine

Title: Community Health Advocacy Team (CHAT)
Description: CHAT is a community service organization that oversees several student-run service initiatives at the University of Maryland School of Medicine. We provide medical students and medical school faculty with opportunities to learn about health care issues in our urban Baltimore community. We also encourage and support students in their endeavors to develop their own service initiatives. For anyone who wants to learn about healthcare in Baltimore or work for better healthcare in their community, CHAT is the place for you!

For more information about CHAT initiatives, please see the database entries on the CHAT Mountain Manor Initiative and the CHAT Lunchtime Lecture Series.
