Baltimore Region Community Programs
Title: HIV Intervention and Prevention (HIP) CorpsDescription: The University of Maryland, Baltimore School of Medicine chapter of the Student National Medical Association (SNMA)fulfils its HIP-CORPS protocol each year by working with teenagers at community-based locations such as local community centers and public schools. UMB Medical Students offer this service monthly. The purpose of this initiative is to educate the local residents regarding issues pertaining to sexual health, sexually transmitted diseases, HIV prevention and decision-making skills. The presentations consist of creative, interactive activities that serve to engage participating youth and raise awareness about their health.
