Title: Maryland for MaliDescription: Maryland for Mali is a student run organization that is dedicated to raising money for the Gabriel Toure Hospital in Bamako, Mali and to giving medical students the opportunity to participate in Global Health Initiatives and Advocate for Human Rights. Students in this group work with faculty from the Center for Vaccine Development to address the pharmaceutical needs of patients in the hospital.
Students from Maryland for Mali co-host an Auction with second year medical students. Half of proceeds benefit the Gabriel Toure Hospital. In the past, Maryland for Mali has used the proceeds to purchase a supply of antibiotics.
