Peer Institutions

How do UMB tuitions compare to our peers?

Although the University of Maryland, Baltimore's mix of professional schools makes it unique among public academic health centers, 21 public institutions were designated by the Maryland Higher Education Commission in 2014 as peers for the purpose of competitor state funding calculations to be performed as recommended by the 2008 Commission to Develop the Maryland Model for Funding Higher Education chaired by Delegate John L. Bohanan Jr. In 2015, 10 institutions were selected by UMB within this group to be performance peers. Five institutions were previously designated as funding guideline and peer performance institutions in 1999.
