The Office of Government Affairs serves as the primary point of contact on behalf of the University with state, federal, and local government officials and their staff, as well as community leaders.
We develop collaborative opportunities and initiatives for the University, maintain positive relationships with government officials, oversee legislation and related issues, guide testimony and information provided to public officials, and ensure that the University has a coordinated and unified position on issues relating to the public sector.
The Office of Government Affairs should be informed of any matters where public officials are involved in University affairs or where members of the UMB community are reaching out in their official capacity to public officials.
