Interim President Jarrell Joins Colleagues to Addresses Coronavirus Concerns

In a letter to the University of Maryland, Baltimore (UMB) community, Interim President Bruce E. Jarrell, MD, FACS; Mohan Suntha, MD, MBA, president and chief executive officer, University of Maryland Medical System; and E. Albert Reece, MD, PhD, MBA, dean of the University of Maryland School of Medicine, outline new policies effective immediately regarding telework, travel, remote learning, and gatherings in response to the novel coronavirus (COVID-19). These policies, the first of a two-step plan, are in place to mitigate health concerns as cases of the illness continue to be reported in Maryland.

Dr. Jarrell also directs readers to the UMB coronavirus website, which will help people stay informed, suggests measures to take for safe hygiene, and outlines what to do if you are feeling sick during this flu season.
