COVID-19 and the Law

Trudy Henson, JD, MA, public health program director, University of Maryland Center for Health and Homeland Security, discusses not just what a quarantine is, but the legal aspects of one as well. She encourages people to be prepared, but not to panic, when considering a voluntary quarantine.

The University of Maryland Francis King Carey School of Law convened a panel of experts in February to delve into the legal ramifications of a widespread public health response to a threat like COVID-19. The panel, attended by students, faculty, and staff, proved to be a fascinating look behind the legal curtain of public health law.
