Local Purchasing

We know local merchants hire local workers, improve local properties, and make food available to community members. That's why UMB has a focus on supporting local businesses that surround our campus.

As part of the Local Food Connection program, local small businesses receive access to training, technical assistance, marketing support, and other resources to help them succeed in selling food. Funded by the Baltimore Integrations Partnership, the program originated as a joint project with the School of School Work's Community Action network.

Local Food Connection

UMB and UMMC staff, faculty, and students: You can support the economy in West Baltimore with your purchasing power. Consider using a neighborhood business for your next catering job or simply visit them for lunch. For UMB employees ordering for business purposes, the vendors listed on our Local Food site can all take your Pro Card!
