“Navigating the Technology Landscape in Graduate and Professional Education”

The 2nd annual symposium on April 2, 2024, consisted of a keynote address, in-person breakout sessions and announcement of this year's LEAPS Distinguished Educator Awards and Instructional Innovation Seed Grants awarded to UMB faculty.

The symposium included a keynote address by the Graduate School's new Director of Faculty Center for Teaching and Learning and HPE Assistant ProfessorSol Roberts-Lieb, EdD, titled, "Who Moved My Technology: Using Technology Advancements to Enhance Faculty Development and Student Outcomes."

LEAPS co-chair Christina Cestone, PhD, assistant vice provost of faculty affairs and associate professor of health professions education in the graduate school, opened the event by describing UMB President Bruce Jarrell's mission statement and goals of initiative. "This [LEAPS] further extended the strategic support for educators alongside other initiatives like the Faculty Center for Teaching and Learning which is a central resource for all schools and the Health Professions Education doctoral program which was launched in 2020 as well to provide a credential for health professions educators."
