The University has enhanced its wireless network with the implementation of eduroam.

This new wireless system enables the University to become part of the eduroam initiative. Eduroam (education roaming) is the secure, worldwide roaming access service developed for the international research and education community.

Eduroam allows students, faculty, and staff from participating institutions to obtain Internet connectivity across campus and when visiting other participating institutions by utilizing their UMaryland email address on their laptop or smartphone.

Having started in Europe, eduroam has gained momentum throughout the research and education community and is available in 54 countries. This gives students, faculty and staff the ability to connect to any participating University's wireless system.

How to connect to Eduroam

  1. Set up your device by following the appropriate guide in the list on the right side of this page.
  2. Log in with the appropriate credentials.

Please use your University email address and password when logging into Eduroam.

If you are an Affiliate - i.e. not an Employee or Student of UMB - and you do not have an email address ending in @umaryland.edu, your login User ID is UMID@eduroam.umaryland.edu.

Once you have successfully connected to the eduroam network, your user credentials are stored on the device(s) until your UMB ID password changes and requires an update.

Your current email address or UMID@eduroam.umaryland.edu & password combination, will allow you to connect to wireless networks at participating eduroam locations and Universities.
