The COVID-19 crisis has created many challenges, but it also has inspired acts of great kindness among members of our UMB community. As an anchor institution in Baltimore and a leader in health sciences and social justice, the University understands that staying positive during a global pandemic is important. Positive stories abound, whether it's hosting dance parties, creating digital thank you cards for essential employees, making cloth facemasks, contributing to Food for Our Front Lines, or providing telehealth services. One UMB employee even turned his basement into a small-scale manufacturing operation that is helping front-line health care workers one ear saver at a time (pictured above).
