A Great Time Was Had by All Alumni: Candlelight Concert

Alumni from all seven UMB schools gathered for a captivating candlelight concert Feb. 7 at the new M&T Bank Exchange, part of the France-Merrick Performing Arts Center. The performance, featuring Agnes Tse, Colin Sorgi, and Lachezar Kostov of the Baltimore Symphony Orchestra, drew nearly 200 attendees. Illuminated by hundreds of candles and a digital backdrop, the concert showcased works by Mozart, Jessica Meyer, Mark Summer, and Ernst Von Dohnanyi. A lively Q&A session followed, offering insights into the musicians’ personalities. The event continued on the third level of the Exchange, where alumni connected, met their deans, and enjoyed delicious appetizers and drinks. Cynthia Balentine, a School of Social Work alumna, expressed enthusiasm, vowing increased involvement after attending her first UMB alumni event. The gathering highlighted the unity of UMB, emphasizing “Seven Schools, One University — We Are UMB!”
