Since 2020, the Workplace Mediation Service has trained two cohorts of UMB employees to join our roster of mediators. We have an apprentice process to help our newly trained mediators advance to our roster. WMS is committed to the continued skill development of our mediation apprentices and roster members. Each year, WMS provides mediation training, which includes content, technique development, and time to practice.
WMS hosts a variety of communication and resolution events each year. Our Discovery Chats, workshops, lists of resources, and Conflict Month events are another way that we help UMB employees reflect on and improve their communication, conflict, and resolution mindsets and skills.
