The Wellness Hub supports a mother’s choice to breastfeed her baby while pursuing her graduate or professional degree. There are currently seven Lactation Centers on the University of Maryland, Baltimore campus. Any nursing mother who is a UMB affiliate (faculty, staff, student, or their breastfeeding spouse/domestic partner) can use this service offered by the Wellness Hub.
The University of Maryland Medical Center offers a Warm Line 24 hours a day, seven days a week for any and all breastfeeding questions. The Warm Line is available at 410-328-3512. Prospective users of the lactation rooms should register before contacting the administrative liaisons for each room. Please contact email@example.com for further information about the Maternal Support Services offered on campus.
UMB celebrated World Breastfeeding Week and Month with UMB Lactation Committee and our breastfeeding community of moms and supporters! World Breastfeeding Week is an annual celebration that is held every year from August 1 to 7 in more than 120 countries. In a world filled with inequality, crises and poverty, breastfeeding is the foundation of lifelong good health for babies and mothers. We are excited to announce the slogan of World Breastfeeding Week (WBW) 2018: BREASTFEEDING: Foundation of Life. Objectives for WBW are Inform, Anchor, Engage, and Galvanize.
Check out all of the details and ideas to commemorate WBW by going to http://worldbreastfeedingweek.org/.
