Our Heart Doubles in Size When You Give

UMBF Matching Gift Program: Nov. 1, 2021 – March 31, 2022

To bolster UMB’s fundraising efforts for the Catalyst Campaign, the University of Maryland Baltimore Foundation (UMBF) Board of Trustees has generously agreed to a $1.3 million Matching Gift Program to support fundraising goals for UMB’s seven schools and presidential initiatives.

The board has allocated $150,000 to each school and $250,000 to the following presidential community initiatives: the CURE Scholars Program and UMB’s Community Engagement Center. 

The match period will commence Nov. 1, 2021, and conclude March 31, 2022.

Specifics related to this Matching Gift Program:

  • $1.3 million total allocation
    • $150,000 allocated for each of UMB’s seven schools and $250,000 allocated for Presidential Initiatives, including the UMB CURE Scholars Program and UMB Community Engagement Center.
  • $1 to $1 match
  • Time Period: Nov. 1, 2021 through March 31, 2022 


Eligible Gifts: 

  • New gifts and pledges to existing or new UMBF endowment funds; maximum of a five-year pledge. The minimum for a new endowment is $25,000.
  • Minimum $1,000 gift per donor. 
  • Maximum $50,000 gift per donor per School or Presidential Initiative will be matched.
    • A donor may receive the maximum match for multiple schools.
    • Schools may set a lower maximum gift amount.
  • Bequests and grants are ineligible, except from Donor Advised Funds.
