Status of UM shuttle

Jan. 31, 2019

Dear Colleagues,

I want to alert you to possible significant changes to our UM shuttle service. As most of you know, the UM shuttle was brought to our campus in 2012 through a partnership with the University of Maryland, College Park, which operates the service. Over time, the UM shuttle has become increasingly costly and difficult to maintain.

Recently, our partners in College Park informed us that we cannot continue with our current service beyond summer 2019. So, looking ahead to fall and beyond, we are exploring other transportation options that might best serve our students and employees who live in nearby Baltimore communities.

We'll do our best to keep you informed of any changes to the situation.

Here are some upcoming meetings:

April 22 and April 29: UMB Town Halls on Shuttle Replacement

Join the discussion on replacement options for the UM shuttle and learn:

• what the recent data analysis of shuttle usage shows;
• how UMB is responding to your concerns regarding maintaining a shuttle service;
• what the future holds as the University works to respond to the transportation needs of students, staff, and faculty.
