Why This Podcast… and Why These Topics?

At its onset, "The UMB Pulse" aims to be a mechanism for people to obtain informative, timely, and transparent “Return to Campus” communication as faculty, staff, and students navigate from teleworking and telelearning to an in-person or hybrid model — a way to get back in touch with the heartbeat of UMB after more than a year of disruption caused by the COVID-19 pandemic. UMB will release a new podcast every two weeks.

The intent in fall 2021 is for "The UMB Pulse" to then evolve into a topic-driven podcast geared toward sharing interesting and engaging stories about:

  • Our internal faculty, staff, and student triumphs
  • Interesting things you never knew about UMB
  • Our engaging neighborhood partnership with the West Baltimore community
  • UMB’s diverse and accomplished alumni
