Safe Walk/Safe Ride Services
Members of the UMB Police Force will accompany UMB students, staff, faculty, and University of Maryland Medical Center personnel by foot or by van. Simply call 6-6882 on a campus telephone or 410-706-6882 (off campus), and a uniformed officer will be sent to your location. Riders are required to have a UM ID or UMMC ID.
Safe Walk/Safe Ride is available 24 hours a day, 365 days a year. The Safe Walk service is available 24 hours a day. The Safe Ride service is available from 3 p.m. to 1 a.m. Boundaries, roughly three blocks off campus, for the Safe Walk/Safe Ride program are indicated on the UMB Campus Map.
Rape Aggression Defense
R.A.D. Stands for Rape Aggression Defense and is a women's self-defense class. This program is a hands-on course designed to emphasize confidence and self-discipline while developing and enhancing options of self-defense. This course will teach basic self-defense techniques and emphasize common-sense approaches to safety on campus. Classes are taught by certified instructors from URecFit and University Police.
