Building a PAL in West Baltimore

Telemedicine: Connecting Patients with Opioid Treatment Experts

Through a recent $212,171 grant from CareFirst, the University of Maryland School of Medicine’s opioid treatment experts, Eric Weintraub, MD, and Christopher Welsh, MD, are opening access to treatment for substance use disorder to patients living in rural Maryland.

The $750 million Catalyst Campaign has generated over $476 million in gifts and commitments, 63 percent of the goal. Campaign priorities include student scholarships, faculty excellence, clinical programs, and community engagement.
