Monday through Friday, a monthly parker (with an access card and permit) may go to the Parking Cashier's Office, located in the SMC Campus Center (lower level), with the white ticket received upon entry and request a voucher to exit the garage for that day.
House Staff Garage Info
You have been assigned parking in Pratt Street Garage, which you enter from Penn Street or from Pratt Street. The garage is open 24/7. For your safety and to avoid delays in entering the garage, please follow the instructions of the attendants and cashiers.
The permit/access card is the property of the University of Maryland, Baltimore and must be surrendered upon termination of employment. If you will be working at another location for an extended amount of time, please turn in your permit and access card to the Cashiers Office or your department liaison and pick it up again when you return. As long as you retain the permit or access card, parking fees will be charged.
On occasions, the garage may fill to capacity. The attendants/cashiers will direct you to an alternate facility. You are guaranteed a parking space on campus and will be directed to another garage wherever spaces are available.
The University of Maryland Medical Center provides a shuttle van to transport staff between the hospital's main lobby and campus garages after 5 p.m. (call the Dispatch Center at 8-7072 or go to the Information Desk in the lobby). Also, a van operated by the University Police Force and driven by a police officer covers the entire campus every 20 minutes on a regular route from 6 p.m. to 12:20 a.m., seven days per week. You can catch it at the Emergency Room or at the front lobby.
