Students currently in the United States as F-1 or J-1 students at another college or university must make arrangements with their current school’s international office to transfer their SEVIS record to UMB.
Upon receiving confirmation of your admission to UMB, the Office of International Services will contact you directly to begin the transfer process. An electronic Transfer-In Form will need to be completed by your current international office. The OIS at UMB will be unable to access your SEVIS record until the "Transfer Out" date is reached. At that time, the OIS will be able to generate a new I-20 or DS-2019 for you.
If you have any questions about maintaining your student status while transitioning between degree programs, please contact the OIS or your current international office.
Out of UMB
Upon receiving confirmation of your admission to the new school, you may begin the transfer process. Our "Transfer Out of UMB" e-form in Sunapsis will need to be completed. The new school will be unable to access your SEVIS record until the "Transfer Out" date is reached. At that time, your new school will be able to generate a new I-20 or DS-2019 for you.
See Submitting requests in Sunapsis on how to log in to Sunapsis and submit your Transfer Out of UMB request.
