Police Athletic/Activities League (PAL)

The UMB PAL Program provides after-school programming five days a week. Children (ages 9 to 12) may participate in this free program with mentors from the UMB Police Department. The program provides participants with homework assistance, opportunities to learn through games and activities, and opportunities for fun field trips and overnight conferences.  Youth also build relationships with police officers and gain a better understanding of what it takes to serve the community. Due to the COVID-19 pandemic, the UMB PAL Program will be completely virtual in order to exercise caution and safety during this uncertain time. To register or request more information, contact Borndavid McCraw.

Produce in a SNAP!

Shop Produce in a SNAP!, a terrific program brought to us by Hungry Harvest. Buy $7 bags of fresh fruits and vegetables at this food market. Items change every week. Please bring your own bag. Independence cards, cash, and credit and debit cards are accepted.

Yoga

Online: Zoom | 5:45 p.m. to 6:45 p.m.

FREE online yoga classes are now available for all! Join us each Monday for a soothing session of yoga. Be sure to have your mat, towel, and water ready before the class begins.

Spirit Feet Line Dancing

Online: Zoom | 6:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m.

Come join our line dancing instructors Billy & Peaches for an evening of virtual FUN! Enjoy a thriving community of women and men who like to move together. Burn calories and lose weight with the Wobble and Cupid Shuffle. Dancing increases energy and improves mental health. You do not need to register to join the class, add this event to your calendar and join in via Zoom

Case Management

Meet one-on-one with a social worker from Paul’s Place on-site. Talk about individualized goal planning, crisis intervention, service navigation, and referrals to support and stabilize people and families in crisis.

 

Five Little Shares

Shop for low-cost groceries, including organic items sold by Baltimore Gift Economy's Five Little Shares market. Ulysses and Chrysalinn Archie have been sharing their abundance and building community with us for more than two years.

Workforce Wednesday

Workforce Wednesday resources are now available virtually five days a week! Looking for help finding a job or job training? We help job seekers get on the right track. Receive one-on-one guidance about job resources in the area, résumé writing, and applications. Consult with our staff team, including a Southwest Works representative and volunteers from UMB’s Human Resources office.

Rec2Tech

Due to the COVID-19 pandemic, this program will be conducted online until further notice.

In partnership with Baltimore City Rec and Parks, Rec2Tech is a free maker-based technology program that offers a variety of hands-on workshops. Topics include game design, robotics, product creation, graphic design and more. Participants will have the opportunity to work with 3D printers, vinyl cutters, laser cutters and other state-of-the-art technology. During the COVID-19 pandemic, programming is completely virtual.
