Update: Electric Vehicle Charging Stations Have Arrived!
Among the University of Maryland’s (UM) sustainability initiatives, students, faculty, and staff now have access to electric car charging stations at garages across campus.
UM has joined the ChargePoint Network — a global network of electric vehicle (EV) charging stations. UM's ChargePoint stations provide EV charging stations for students, employees, and campus visitors and service electric vehicles on campus as part of a U.S. Department of Energy grant.
Partnering with the ChargePoint Network allows University EV drivers access to EV-specific services such as the real-time status and location of unoccupied charging stations by SMS, email, or smartphone.
The University has installed 16 charging stations. For more information about the stations and how to use them, check out the University's Parking and Transportation Services website.
