Project description:

Dr. Leslie Glickman collaborated with George Chimatiro, Physiotherapy Supervisor at the Kachere Rehabilitation Centre in Blantyre, Malawi. Three students from the Schools of Nursing, Physical Therapy, and Social Work accompanied their mentors and interpreters to conduct follow-up home visits to clients who had been discharged from the Kachere program. They visited with study participants and recorded their status post client discharge, observed the home environment, and noted any pressing activities and participation/life needs based on the ICF model. Observations and recommendations were then shared with the Kachere rehabilitation staff, who were able to provide extended follow-up care to these clients.
