CGEI DecemberThe seventh annual Festival of Science featured UMSOM faculty presentations on the theme of "Global Health Research".  As part of the Internationalization Lab, the Center for Global Education Initiatives and the Office of International Services joined forces to become the new Center for Global Engagement.  UM Graduate School announced a new certificate in Global Health Innovation in Costa Rica.

CGE November UM School of Medicine's Dr. Neuzil was elected as a member of the prestigious National Academy of Medicine.  UM School of Social Work announced their first international continuing education course. The UMB celebrated UNESCO's International Year of Indigenous Languages by hosting an interactive discussion by Rebecca Nagle, a Cherokee artist and activist.

September UMB Global NewsletterIn response to UMB's Global Health Summit's feedback, the UMB Global Newsletter was created to increase communicaton on all things global.  UMB is taking part of the American Council of Education's International Laboratory from August 2018 to July 2020.  UMSOM's Institute of Human Virology was awarded a grant to conduct HIV population surveys.
