Anne Maria Marete

Anne Maria was born in Nairobi Kenya.  She received her Associates in nursing from Montgomery College and her BSN from University of Maryland.  Anne Maria has always had a great passion for caring for others. It was during her RN-BSN program that she developed a passion for public health and the geriatric population. She has been involved in several community outreach programs that provide health education and screenings in Montgomery County.  Anne Maria currently works in the surgical intensive care unit at the University of Maryland Medical Center while pursuing a Doctorate in Nursing Practice with a focus on adult and gerontology, primary care at UMSON.  Her goal is to use evidence- based practice to care for the aging population to improve their quality of life in their advanced age. Anne Maria aspires to get involved with policy making to decrease health disparities in the community and share her knowledge and experience with future nurses and nurse practitioners as an educator. Allowing her the opportunity to give back and make an impact in the nursing profession.
