Hershaw Davis Jr. bio

Hershaw Davis Jr., MSN, RN, is an entry-to-practice clinical faculty member in the Department of Organizational Systems and Adult Health at the University of Maryland School of Nursing (UMSON). Previously, he served as an adjunct clinical instructor at UMSON.

He graduated with his Bachelor of Science in Nursing degree from the University of Maryland, Baltimore (UMB). He then completed the Johns Hopkins Hospital Nurse Residency in the Adult Emergency Department. He earned his Master of Science in Nursing degree from the University of Virginia.

Davis has clinical experience in the areas of emergency, trauma, psychiatry, and care coordination. He has an interest in diversity, equity, and inclusion and serves as a member of the UMB Diversity Advisory Council. He currently serves on the Emergency Nurses Association's Inaugural Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion Committee and the American Psychiatric Nurses Association's Council for Mental Health Advocacy Steering Committee. He has presented nationally on the topics of racism in health care as well as social justice and health equity.
